Our Director of Nursing is Colene Oates RN. She has been working in long term care since 1980 and has been part of the evolvement of how we provide care to our seniors, recognizing the value they still have to their families and friends. She graduated from Long Beach City College and Cal State Long Beach with a degree in nursing and music. Our staff provides a high quality of care through ongoing education and training. Colene has been with NSHC since July 2011 and has been a DON in variety of settings including long term care, acute rehab experience, secured environments and subacute nursing.
Lena Gutierrez is our Health Information Director. She has served at NSHC since 2009, working to ensure medical records are maintained and protected. She had previously worked in Medical Records at other skilled nursing facilities and works with nursing staff to ensure patients medical records reflect their plans of care. Her years of experienced – 18 to be exact- enable her to manage the flow of paper generated by the health care industry.
Anabel Lopez is our Activity Director at NSHC. She has been with us since 2001 as our Activity Director. During this time she has earned her LVN and decided to stay in her position due to her love for ensuring our patients have enjoyable and healthy activities to participate in every day. She coordinates daily programs, outings, holiday events, Resident Council, and the Volunteer Program. We love our Activity Director!!
